Dear Trainees,

As the Training Programme Director for ST1/ ST2 for the North Central and North East regions of the London Deanery in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I welcome you to an exciting start in 2008, with a teaching programme that has topics chosen by you.

Having been involved in teaching programmes for a while and speaking to trainees, there appears to be a definite need to provide teaching on a centralised level for several reasons. It allows high quality teaching to be organised and delivered by interested trainers to trainees. It gives an opportunity for trainees at a particular level (ST1 and 2 in this case) to meet and discuss ideas/training etc.

It was felt that by separating the training for ST1/2 from the other ST trainees would allow focus on basic and specific training needs at this level.

I am hoping that we will continue to develop the teaching and training programme and this website over time with your help and input.
