January 2008 Newsletter

Dear Trainees,

I am very pleased to report that the first meeting of the Centralised Teaching Programme held at Barnet Hospital last Friday, the 18 th of January 2008 was an outstanding success. I must thank all of you for coming (36 trainees attended) and your College Tutors for arranging for you to be able to attend, especially those on call.

Special thanks to Miss Moneli Golara, College Tutor for Barnet, and to Mr Dan Selo- Ojeme, for their interactive and interesting lectures.

From the evaluation forms, we received, there were no negative comments, but the overall feeling is to have no more than 2 topics in an afternoon, to allow discussion.

I will see how the next few meetings go and we can then take opinions from all of you.

Do make sure that you have arranged to be free for the 15 th of February to go to Queens Hospital , BHR as the topic of competency assessment and pre-eclampsia are both highly relevant.

I would recommend that you periodically check the website for changes and additions.

Please free to contact me via email at nitu.bajekal@bcf.nhs.uk , if you need any advice.

We are attempting to put as many of the talks on the website, especially for those of you who missed it.

Best Wishes,

Nitu Bajekal
